Drilling and Formation Log Analysis

Drilling and Formation Log Analysis I – Basic

This is a two day course that is focused mainly on the theory and practical application of gamma and vibration logging. It is designed for Field MWD engineers who are ready to take the next step into basic logging while drilling services. Support and Service personnel who will be directly involved with these logs are also encouraged to take the course. Other professionals who want to understand the principle of the log analysis covered in this course are welcome to attend. Participants will understand the theory of gamma and vibration. They will be able to understand and identify gamma response in various lithologies and also vibration response in various wellbores and lithologies. They will understand the operational practices of various basic downhole tools used for drilling. Participants will be able to analyze, validate, interpret and present gamma, vibration and surface parameter measurements. Lastly, participants will be able to understand and apply gamma and vibration well log correlation. Course materials and exercises are included.
